WICU Walk In Clamping Unit
WICU Walk In Clamping Unit
2 KM manufactures a multitude of walk-in clamping units
(WICU = W-alk-I-n-C-lamping-U-nit)
in many different sizes and with different clamping forces.
The clamping unit in general offers many advantages.
Basically, the machines consist of 5 important parts:
· 2 lateral machine posts
· 1 head bridge
· 2 closing plates (WICU 1000 - 1 closing plate)
The machine is supplied in these spare parts. This makes transport a lot easier.
With regard to the assembly, no important modifications will have to be effected at the buildings.
4 hydraulic cylincers (in the four corners) effect a contraction of the closing plate. The real clamping force is thus only absorbed by the closing plates, i.e. there is no considerable stress onto the machine posts.
Hydraulic cylinders are installed for the movement of the closing plates. Both closing plates (exception WICU 1000) are mobile. This assures that the mould is always in the centre of the unit. The cranes for the mould and also the product transport may be set up in a stiff order.
For transport of the units, depending on their size craneways from 8.0 metres via 12.0 metres and 20,0 metres are available. The length may be adapted to the customer demands.
The production of all types and sizes of hollow insulators is possible (even up to 10,000 kV).
All closing units may be connected onto each other by means of a data line (CAN-BUS). This means of communication guarantees a high product safety.
The following sizes are available:
WICU 1.000x1.000 - 400 kN
WICU 1.500 x 750 - 600 kN
WICU 2.000 x 1.000 - 600 - 800 kN
WICU 2.500 x 1.250 - 1.000 - 1.600 kN
WICU 2.700 x 1.250 - 1.000 - 1.600 kN
WICU 3.000 x 1.500 - 1.600 kN
It goes without saying that we can also manufacture specific sizes taylored onto your own needs.

All our machines are equipped with a touch screen. Thanks to the graphics operation is very easy, and the program are self-explaining.
Come to that, communication is possible in various languages.
Each clamping unit may be equipped with a material distribution via cold channel nozzles. This way, various injection points in one mould are possible. The nozzles are connected directly onto the mould, which largely excludes the problem of impurities. The nozzle heads are cooled to prevent the material from hardening.

As a standard, 3 nozzles are supplied. This may, however, be adjusted onto our customers’ demands.
